My Thoughts

So good to see Slaughter writing something that isn't a Sara Linton or Will Trent book, not that I don't love both those characters it is just refreshing to see her do something different. This was an amazing read that took me right back to 1970s Atlanta where female cops and black cops are struggling to make themselves known on the force. It opened with one of the most gripping scenes I think I have ever read and you know straight away you are in for one hell of a ride. I loved both Maggie and Kate both strong women working in a man's world. A must read for anyone who likes their books fast paced and gripping with a few twists thrown in here and there.
